About

Braian Plaku is a software developer working on robotics and machine vision at Julius Blum GmbH in Vorarlberg, Austria — one of the world's leading manufacturers of furniture fittings. Based in Dornbirn, he builds Python-based inspection software for production lines, integrates line scan cameras on embedded Linux and develops deep learning models for industrial image processing, with a focus on 6D pose estimation.

Alongside his work in industry, he is an open-source software developer: under the handle swimmingbrain he builds and publishes projects on GitHub, from a browser-based video editor and embedded logging tools to robot arm control and games. He is completing a BSc in Computer Science (Digital Innovation) at FH Vorarlberg (FHV), an MSc in Artificial Intelligence at Johannes Kepler University Linz (JKU) and an MSc in Sustainable Energy Systems, after a dual BSc in Electrical Engineering at FHV (2025) and an exchange semester at Seoul National University of Science and Technology. He grew up in Shkodër, Albania.
